March 29th is World Piano Day, and TivoliVredenburg is participating with a concert by AMIMEA, the Dutch pianist and composer Merit Visser, creator of minimalist, neoclassical music. This tour is dedicated to AMIMEA's new (third) album, Trails, an album inspired by her treks into the wilderness and mountains, encountering new places, new people, and often herself. You can hear her adventurous spirit in the electronics and subtle vocals that AMIMEA adds to her piano. The first track, "Hummingbird Song," is already out!
