Tjels is an artist passionate about storytelling through music. She seeks the balance between vulnerability and strength, with her songs reflecting personal experiences and a search for meaning. Her performances have been compared to the whimsical musings of AURORA, blended with the understated yet compelling storytelling of Adrianne Lenker.

Under an alternative name, the singer debuted in May 2022 with her single "The Puppet" on the POP22 program Matthijs Gaat Door. A live session quickly followed on NPO Radio 2 and 3voor12, where she quickly opened for international artists like Patrick Watson, Agnes Obel, and Barbara Pravi. Tjels realized she wasn't fully formed yet and retreated into her cocoon to further develop and transform.

Now, in 2025, Tjels emerges fully formed from her hibernation, with a clear understanding of where she wants to put down roots in the chaos of the world. Besides a wealth of new music, she has recorded her first full-length work with her regular collaborators Simon Leferink and Serge Desault, a five-track EP set for release on March 6, 2026.
