Tony Njoku x Spaceship Ensemble

Birds of Paradise presents

The London composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Tony Njoku combines electronic, ambient and classical music. With this he has developed into a striking voice within contemporary experimental music, praised by renowned media such as The Guardian, Dazed and The Quietus.

On his latest album All Our Knives Are Always Sharp Njoku works with, among others, Tricky, GAIKA, Ghostpoet, Coby Sey, James Massiah and Space Afrika. In the new songs he explores themes such as spirituality and resistance, carried by electronic abstraction, falsetto-driven vocals and cinematic atmospheres.

For this special evening Njoku works with the Spaceship Ensemble. In this new context the songs gain extra depth and dramatic tension, with his cinematic compositions amplified by a rich and layered ensemble sound.

This performance is part of the Birds of Paradise Festival. On 9, 16 and 18 to 21 March 2026 you are welcome at the fifth edition of this festival at TivoliVredenburg. At Birds of Paradise you hear new, unique productions and genre-crossing collaborations between different artists.
