VOWWS has always been shrouded in mystery and darkness. That's the natural position for the darkwave duo Matt James and Rizz, hailing from Australia and based in Los Angeles. It's no surprise, then, that their new album, "I'll Fill Your House With An Army," continues this line. However, confusing it with a purely bleak view of the world is too simplistic. Ever since their first EP in 2013 and debut album, "The Great Sun," their songs have consistently revealed small cracks in the darkness, moments where light penetrates. On the new album, those moments flicker a little brighter and longer. The way VOWWS interweaves their inner world with the world around them has been a constant element in their work for years.
