VPRO 100 Years is a jubilee and a look at the future. A festival-style birthday party full of domestic favorites and internationally oriented headliners. In the evening, there are performances by Jungle By Night, Fresku, and Elmer, among others, and special performances by House of Vineyard, KONT, Stippenlift, and Funny Bergman. For a century, VPRO has been producing innovative programs with a keen eye on society, and the V stands for Liberal: close to the spirit of the times, against conformity, sometimes provocative, and always surprising. Timeless characters in Simplisties Verbond , historical awareness thanks to In Europa , groundbreaking youth television with Theo & Thea , and many more iconic TV moments make the broadcaster one of a kind.

This anniversary is therefore being celebrated exuberantly with a venue-filling line-up, an inclusive cross-section of contemporary (youth) culture. So, lots of live music, dance, theatre, and other performing arts, while you are constantly reminded of the rich history of the eternally headstrong VPRO. Around midnight, we toast to what was and to what does not yet exist. What will the next hundred years look like? Absurd, uninhibited, and hardcore, undoubtedly. But first, it is time to party.
