We The People


We The People returns with our recurring program blending poetry, spoken word, music, and (performance) art. Themed ‘The Fire Next Time’ _,_ this edition of We The People is dedicated to the different stories of resistance against systemic violence. Taking inspiration from James Baldwin’s book, using its urgency and clear-eyed critique of systemic violence to frame a space where artists address the injustices still shaping our world — from inequality, state violence, to erasure — while affirming resistance, community and truth-telling.

With performances by Femi Dawkins, Lev Avitan, Maha Eljak and Munganyende, and a dj set by Mo Wrights.
