Willem is an artist, musician, theatre maker, and actor. He rose to prominence as one half of The Opposites, which since the 2000s has grown into one of the most influential and energetic live acts in the Netherlands. With multiple albums, major hits, sold-out tours, and headline shows at festivals, the duo has left a lasting mark on Dutch pop culture.

Alongside his work with The Opposites, Willem built a versatile solo career. His debut album Man in Nood was awarded, and the accompanying live show performed at venues such as Lowlands, Paradiso, and Koninklijk Theater Carré. The subsequent album Spuug van God from 2024 also proved to be a success.

Now Willem presents 'Jongen van de Zon', revealing a freer and more optimistic side of himself. The record oscillates between introspective lyrics and danceable rhythms, fueled by the tension and connection between his two home fronts: the Netherlands and Curaçao. On the album, he collaborated with Ronnie Flex, Don Melody Club, and Sef, among others.
