The five-piece band Zalf combines Dutch-language indie and linguistic art. Narrative lyrics are unleashed into an unpredictable musical landscape—imaginative, sincere, and full of frayed edges, with influences from spoken word, folk, and alt-rock.
In their debut album De Lange Omtrekkende Beweging (recorded in a garage in Zaltbommel), the band strikes two registers: narrative, dreamy songs alternate with harder, more energetic material. Thematically, the album is an encouragement to keep searching, via an endless series of detours (past circle birthdays, cheeky stones, and shadow images), in pursuit of a sense of growth. There is still plenty of time!
Zalf consists of Wouter Roos (bass), Andrès Leiro (drums), Len van Beuningen (keys), Simon Stuij (vocals & guitar), and Nina van Rossem (vocals). The band emerged from Simon's solo work and is now growing as a collective, with more room for experimentation and a larger role for Nina as lyricist and co-lead vocalist.

LOTTE SAREMBE
Lotte Sarembe is an experimental folk artist who combines the intimacy and honesty of the singer-songwriter tradition with a strong urge to push musical boundaries. For her, music means finding the eye of the storm: a place where, beyond the edges of the familiar, she finds the deepest peace. Growing up in a musical family, she developed a broad, open perspective on music, and at fifteen she discovered wine glasses as an instrument—an element that has since formed a characteristic part of her sound. Her work, including her debut EP *Nobody's Fault*, weaves together vocals, glass harp, looper, and guitar into a sound that is both ethereal and warm, comforting and simultaneously cuttingly sharp. Her compositions, with their subtle frayed edges, invite the listener to surrender completely and transport you to an intimate, almost still space without sacrificing power or clarity. Live, with her precise and open voice, she effortlessly silences a room and creates a direct, sincere connection. With performances at Oerol, Amarte Wonderland, and Studio 150, among others, she has already firmly established herself, and she is currently working on new material in collaboration with guitarist Ella Alise Ziriña.
