Ok then the USA West Coast garage scene, a lot of grit comes from there, among others from the wells of heroes like Ty Segall and John Dwyer, and on labels like In The Red, Castle Face and Riding Easy. Enter heavy rock/punk rock trio ZIG ZAGS from LA, founded in 2010 by singer/guitarist Jed Maheu, with records out on labels such as In The Red, Castle Face and Riding Easy, recorded with and by among others Ty Segall, John Dwyer and Iggy Pop. The band played shows with Power Trip, High on Fire, Excel, Integrity, Fucked Up, Pentagram, Osees, Fuzz, and many other cool bands. Friday 22 May they will be at dB’s with their latest release DeadBeat At Dawn on RidingEasy in their merch bag, a solid example of garage metal or heavy metal punk. Whatever you call it, merci Zig Zags for this unadulterated portion of heavy rock where both garage lovers and metal heads can go hard.
