Deeply rooted in the musical tradition of Mississippi, Annie & The Caldwells brings an irresistible mix of disco and soul, music that touches you in your heart and in your soul. Led by the powerful voice of Annie Caldwell and the warm guitar sounds of her husband Willie Joe Caldwell Sr., with whom she has shared life for fifty years, this family band knows how to turn any space into a place of inspiration, whether it’s a church or a steaming dance floor. The band is a tight-knit family: daughters Deborah and Anjessica, along with goddaughter Toni, provide background vocals, while eldest son Willie Jr. plays the bass and youngest son Abel Aquirius keeps the rhythm tight behind the drums.

During the day, they lead a normal life: Annie runs a clothing store, Willie Jr. drives a forklift, Abel Aquirius transports hospital patients, Anjessica works in customer service, Toni teaches in the classroom, and Deborah is a hairdresser. But as soon as the weekend arrives, this family transforms into an energetic soul machine that gets every audience moving. Their long-awaited album 'Can’t Lose My Soul' has been forty years in the making, and even before the official release, it received rave reviews in, among others, The Guardian and MOJO. How to get to Paradiso
Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
