**Sophie Straat** is the frontwoman of the band Sophie Straat – a group, a movement – in their music the message always takes precedence. With cleverly crafted ballads, she sings about social issues and addresses themes such as racism, abuse of power, sexism, and inequality. In a short time, Sophie Straat has grown into the undisputed queen of a new generation of protest singers.

This coming autumn, she will release a new album: _Who the heck is Sophie Straat_, which she will perform in intimate, raw punk venues across the Netherlands – including ACU. On the album, she writes about how the Netherlands is filled with rules, and how we all already know who the winners and losers are. A new album, a new sound, together against the same mess.

This show is part of a pilot by EKKO and the booking agency Friendly Fire. At all concerts that EKKO and Friendly Fire organize together in 2025, we offer three different ticket prices: a regular ticket, a low-income ticket, and a high-income ticket. The last two categories are offered in limited numbers, while supplies last. Because financial considerations play a significant role in the decision to go out and not everyone has the same spending power, we want to investigate the consequences of offering multiple ticket prices. The high-income tickets are intended to make the low-income tickets possible, not to generate extra revenue for EKKO, Friendly Fire, or the artist.
