The Finnish neoclassical pianist/composer A. Blomqvist once worked in Defense and was a peacekeeper in the Middle East, nowadays he brings peace with his serene, melancholic music. In Blomqvist's compositions at the intersection of classical and modern, his compatriot Jean Sibelius (1865-1957) can be heard, but also contemporary names such as Ludovico Einaudi, Ólafur Arnalds, and Nils Frahm. In 2024, the Finn was signed by the XXIM label, part of the renowned Sony Music Masterworks. On his latest album Dualism (2026), Blomqvist enriches his work with strings and subtle electronics.
