This Canadian singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso Ariel Posen has spent ten years bridging those two worlds, and striking a balance between his work as an instrumentalist, with collaborations with John Mayer and Tom Jones to his name, and his reputation as what Rolling Stone called "a modern-day guitar hero."
His latest album, 'Bannatyne', is about rediscovering your past in order to fully appreciate the present. Woven throughout the album's 12 tracks are grand, sweeping riffs and driving tempos (a nod to the 90s rock music that formed the soundtrack of Posen's youth), alongside the syncopated grooves and exploratory, unexpected textures that have come to define his work.
