In collaboration with W139, we present to you A Soft Guide to Chill, a 2-part residency that will guide you through the many layers of chill out. For those who want to listen, but not be told to listen. For those who want to slow down whilst keeping moving. For those who want to dream, but not to escape. Across both evenings, we invite artists to present their own interpretation of chill out, in symbiosis with our new scenography installation designed by Claartje Barkhof and Sarah Saleh.
A Soft Guide to Chill is a multidisciplinary project exploring the ways in which 90s chill out histories intersect with contemporary forms of listening. Through creating neural networks between past, present, and future ideas of the chill out room, we unfurl what has already been and gone, and what it could become.
