Screening + talk: Cinetree documentaire SAMEN Polarization is on the rise, loneliness is increasing, and it seems that more and more people are struggling. Does that say something about these people or about our society? In the new Cinetree Original SAMEN, Hanna Verboom seeks an answer to this timely question. SAMEN is a hopeful documentary about connection in a time of mental turmoil. The film brings together pioneers who are building new forms of community and care, and gives a platform to initiatives that often fly under the radar, but are invaluable—not only for our mental health, but also for our society. Empatia, an initiative of the OPORA Foundation, invites you to come watch SAMEN, listen and join the conversation during the post-screening talk. Bring someone you wouldn’t normally ask to come along. Ask your neighbor, classmate, or coworker. Come together, or feel free to come on your own. “Humans are, at their core, beings who must always—24 hours a day—know that they are connected to other people. That is how we are wired biologically, socially, and psychologically.” – Prof. Dr. Jim van Os SAMEN is a film by Hanna Verboom and Karsten de Vreugd, produced by Cinetree with support from the Contribute Foundation.
