When passion, friendship, identity and artisticity come together, it can feel as if everything hits you at once. In that tangle of influences punk band Die Spitz moves effortlessly between different styles and modes of expression. If the world of rock music were an ice cream parlor, the quartet from Austin would have tried every flavor, overturned the freezer and danced with everyone.

On their debut album, 'Something to Consume' Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Eleanor Livingston and Kate Halter explore the inescapable consumption that surrounds daily life. 'There is a political side to it, but addiction and love can also be all-consuming,' says Livingston. While they swap instruments and singing and songwriting duties, Die Spitz creates powerful songs that feel both personal and collective, and form a place where listeners can get lost.
