In HERMANN, visitors are invited to the QUICK FIX – HUMAN BECOMING course: an alienating and slightly absurdist performance that plays with the idea of 'becoming human'. From the perspective of an entity that has only just found itself in human form, a world unfolds in which everyday behaviors, social codes, and interactions are anything but self-evident.
With a mix of instruction, observation, and theatrical imagination, HERMANN guides the audience through the final phases of a transformation process. Diagrams, case studies, and behavioral guidelines are employed as tools to grasp what it means to function within human systems, while simultaneously exposing their absurdity.
HERMANN balances performance, installation, and lecture, inviting the audience to look at the everyday with a fresh, alienated gaze.
