The English rapper Dizzee Rascal is considered the pioneer of grime, a genre that emerged from a mix of jungle, dancehall, hiphop, and UK garage. His debut album Boy In Da Corner (2003) was immediately picked up by clubbers, DJs, and other connoisseurs due to its innovative sound and Dizzee's inescapable machine-gun flow. A worldwide breakthrough followed in 2009 with the album Tongue N’ Cheek and its hits Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers (with Armand Van Helden). On his latest album Don’t Take It Personal (2024), Dizzee returns to his grime roots!
