Figureheads of the protest movement, spokespersons for dialectics, beacons of hope. With their unique blend of punk anthems and tearjerkers, Hang Youth has been serving the major stages of the Low Countries with hypocrisy, controversy, and catharsis for nearly a decade. For entirely logical, as well as inimitable, reasons, the band expanded with the forty-member choir Het Wilde Wat. Punk with a choir: nobody knows why it works, but it works like a charm, as evidenced by their widely acclaimed Pinkpop show.
So Hang Youth is bringing the punk choir show to the only logical place: pop church Paradiso, on the only logical date: Boxing Day. Are you still looking for a way to avoid sitting at the table with your in-laws? Then this is your perfect excuse. During this evening, we set Jesus and 'Holy Night' aside for a moment. At Hang Youth, figures like Sylvana Simons are actually sacred, as evidenced by songs like 'HET KAN ME NIET LINKS GENOEG'. Together with Het Wilde Wat, we open our throats and collectively rant about how crooked we think the Tax Authorities are. Welcome, lonely ones of the earth.
