The virtuoso ud player and composer Mehmet Polat brings together excellent jazz musicians and forges an innovative sound with instruments from different traditions. His own compositions are colored by daring improvisations and catchy grooves. He finds freedom in deviating from simple time signatures to complex, uneven time signatures. This results in refreshing new music that resembles traditional music from all over the world, but with the freedom of contemporary jazz.
