Ode to the new country superstar
Country is hot. All over the States, young artists are breathing new life into the genre. The undisputed king of this country revival is Morgan Wallen: a thirty-three-year-old singer-songwriter and streaming sensation from Sneedville, Tennessee, whose career took off after he participated in The Voice in 2014.
The recipe for success? A massive Southern accent and good old country themes (drink and relationships), but wrapped in a modern pop guise, sometimes even with a touch of hip-hop. By now, he has several massive hits to his name and collaborates with pop giants like Post Malone and Tate McRae. His latest album, I'm The Problem, even reached number 1 in America. Not bad for a record with thirty-seven (!?!) songs.
It is clear: Morgan Wallen is a country superstar. We mean, what other 33-year-old artist do you know with his own tribute band? There is, however, just one small problem: as befits a true country boy, Wallen is not very keen on leaving his beloved America. He has barely played in Europe, and that doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. Fortunately, on March 22, you will get damn close to the original, as this tribute band gets you singing along to Last Night, Cowgirls, I'm The Problem, and the rest of the endless laundry list of mega-hits.
