Every year, Korzo receives dozens of applications from young makers with a connection to The Hague. A local jury selects four artists to present their work on Korzo's professional stage. In this way, Playground becomes a playground where makers dare, dream, and do, and share their work with a curious audience.
This year, Freddie Lian brings together dance, film, and spoken word in BARSTEN BLOEIEN , exploring the doubt, hope, and strength of a self-chosen community. With Manifestaties, Lilian Kafa and Wajeeh Qadamani make Arabic literature and culture palpable as a living language. French artist Shyrel investigates the invisible weight of emotions with aerial straps and clownish vulnerability. And Jeannette Huizinga and Victor Westerkamp bring the beauty of classical singing and opera to a contemporary setting.
At Playground, everyone is welcome: as a maker, spectator, or curious soul.
