Three singer-songwriters each shine a different light on the world in the intimate setting of The Intimate Sessions, the bimonthly singer-songwriter evening on our smallest stage in the central hall, at Café Het Gegeven Paard. The evenings are free to attend.
Hadassa:
Hadassa creates classic Dutch-language pop that comes straight from the heart. As a linguist graduate, her love for language and her passion for music come together naturally in her songwriting. Hadassa's music features intimate, poetic lyrics about letting go, gratitude, and human interactions. She casts a critical eye on postmodern society and offers a counter-narrative of hope and connection. With her songs, Hadassa wants to encourage her listeners and make them feel seen and loved — preferably live, on stage, where she can look them straight in the eye. In 2023, Hadassa participated in the song contest for the new West Betuwe song. Later that year, she started a Ukrainian music project, organizing a multicultural music evening and forming a Ukrainian-Dutch band with which she released a bilingual medley. Also that year, she began a year-long songwriting course at LaLaLab in Amsterdam. A year later, she participated in the Parel van de Betuwe.
Dani Raven:
Dani Raven (Danique de Graaf) is a singer-songwriter from Deventer. While she sings, she accompanies herself on guitar or piano. In recent years, she has discovered a lot about herself and about who she wants to be as an artist. She found her home in country and rock music: the world of telling real stories, melodic instruments, and screaming guitars.
There has always been music in my life. In good times, in bad times, it was always there. When it felt like no one was really listening or when I didn't have the words to talk about it, I could still express myself through music. It is healing, uplifting, and brings people together. When we make music, we let go of our thoughts. Only our hearts speak. The rest of the world fades away. With my music, I hope to share that experience with you, to be authentic, and not to be afraid to let our hearts speak.
Luna Selene:
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter Luna Selene writes personal pop music straight from the heart. Inspired by her own experiences, she translates emotions and events from her life into honest, vulnerable stories about love, loss, family, insecurity, shame, and self-discovery. Through her music, she gives words to feelings that are often difficult to express. Her greatest driving force is connection: creating a place where listeners can recognize themselves in her stories and feel less alone for a moment.
