The American-Indian singer-songwriter Sheherazaad (her stage name comes from the Persian Scheherazade from One Thousand and One Nights) creates a unique combination of modern folk pop and traditional South Asian music, singing in Urdu, Hindi, and Arabic. Sometimes reminiscent of Arooj Aftab, the first Pakistani artist to win a Grammy – not coincidentally, Aftab produced Sheherazaad's debut EP Qasr (2024).
