Three days before 'Here Because Of Hope' is released worldwide, Super-Sonic Jazz welcomes Ezra Collective to Murmur for an evening dedicated to their new album. The album will be played from start to finish in an intimate setting. Host Joygail will then speak with Ezra Collective about the stories, ideas and musical worlds behind it.
On their fourth studio album, Ezra Collective move from West African grooves and Caribbean rhythms to the sound of their home city, London. It is a record about the journey from pain to joy, with hope as its connecting force. It also marks a new chapter for the first jazz act to win the Mercury Prize, later named Group of the Year at the BRIT Awards.
Following the listening session and Q&A, Ezra Collective takes to the decks. Super-Sonic Soundsystem, a rotating line-up of DJs from the community, sets the tone throughout the programme.
