The Arabic Apocalypse is an audiovisual performance by Syrian oud player and composer Talal Fayad in collaboration with filmmaker and music producer Anas Alqadamni and musician and composer Skander Jaïbi. Inspired by the multidisciplinary legacy of poet, writer, and painter Etel Adnan and her seminal poem of the same name.
By blending music, visuals, and poetry, the performance explores Adnan’s work through the perspectives of its creators, who share a connection to the cultural and historical landscapes that shaped Adnan’s voice. A dialogue between text and sound, the past and present, and individual and collective memory.
