The members of the Swedish melodic death metal band The Halo Effect call themselves 'pioneers of the Gothenburg melodeath scene'. A title they deserve, as the gentlemen hail from In Flames and Dark Tranquility, two big names in The Gothenburg sound of the nineties. The Halo Effect was founded in 2019 to restore this sound to its former glory, and they have already succeeded twice: on their debut album Days Of The Lost (2022) and early last year on the follow-up March Of The Unheard (2025). Classic melodeath with modern production: The Halo Effect is the best of both worlds!
