The Smiths are to indie what Black Sabbath is to metal: the absolute founding fathers of the genre. With their tortured, poetic crooning and jangling guitar lines, these four eccentric Mancunians changed the British pop landscape forever. From Oasis to Interpol and from Fontaines D.C to the Proust-reading hipster at your local coffee shop who's never heard from again after the second date: they wouldn't have existed without The Smiths. And to think the band only lasted five years. Because, as with iconic bands, The Smiths can't stand each other. Johnny Marr recently said that we can kiss a reunion goodbye, no matter how many million-billion he would get for it. Fortunately, we still have the best alternative: The Smiths Presumably. No tribute band captures the Smiths feeling like this Belgian/Limburg formation. Even in England, the band is known as the best Smiths tribute there is. The moves, the charisma, the voice, and that iconic guitar sound. They have it all in their fingers. 'What difference does it make'? After shows in London, Leeds, Birmingham, and of course Manchester (The Factory), The Smiths Presumably brings an indie big bang to our venue. This Charming Man, Bigmouth Strikes Again, Girlfriend In A Coma, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out: it's all coming and more!
