Alexandra Alden brings a voice from the sun-drenched landscapes of Malta that sounds both timeless and entirely modern. With roots in her British-Maltese heritage, she grows into a unique blend of intimate indie-folk and radiant, synth-and-guitar-driven pop. Alden, born into an artistic family, crafts a sound world where the raw and lush embrace: the melancholy of being on the road and the warmth of home in one breath. On stage, she unfolds these themes in an intimate, captivating performance—sometimes solo with guitar, sometimes with her dynamic band. From whispering guitar lines to grand pop refrains, always laced with personal anecdotes, Alden presents a show that is both poetic and disarmingly human.
Her musical journey took her from Malta to New York, London, and countless European venues. There, she developed a repertoire that asks questions requiring courage and openness: from the exploratory sounds of Leads to Love (2021) to the award-winning Wild Honey (2018), an ode to the necessity of wild places. With her new album When Is It Too Late? (2025), inspired by Sylvia Plath's fig tree metaphor, Alden delves deeper into the weight and beauty of choices, change, and survival. Live, this translates into a conversation without filter—music as a reminder that even in moments of breakage, something brilliant can emerge.
