From the Salzburg Festival to The Hague: the Lyatoshynsky Trio comes to Classical NOW! for the only Dutch concert this summer. Together with pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi, they present a program in three acts about war and exile, forgiveness, love, and redemption. With music by, among others, the Ukrainian composer Borys Lyatoshynsky, Arnold Schönberg, and Alban Berg, a dramatic story unfolds without words. From the haunting sounds of Lyatoshynsky's Second Piano Trio, written during his evacuation in 1942, to Schönberg's Verklärte Nacht and Shalygin's monumental Fetus Etudes: a concert that navigates between vulnerability, sorrow, and overwhelming power.
