ASH

– 1977 30th anniversary show

De Helling and TivoliVredenburg present: Ash! It is 2026, and that can only mean one thing: it is thirty years after 1996, the year of 1977. No, we haven't entered a state of delirium – fans of the band Ash know exactly what we are talking about. The iconic debut album by the Northern Irish Britpop formation is blowing out thirty candles. And the band is celebrating this with a show at De Helling, entirely dedicated to one of the best Britpop records ever. Since debuting at number 1 in 1977, the band grew from a bunch of very young teenage boys into mature indie heroes with a gold-plated career full of highlights. The successful follow-up Free All Angels, for example, or their most recent banger of a single Keep Dreaming. Ash in no way dwelled on the success of 1977, yet the album always held a special place in the hearts of fans and the band itself. So, it is high time for a well-deserved tribute. Not by some lame cover band, but by the real deal. Ash in full glory, performing his brilliant debut album as if it were 1977 again. Sorry, 1996. You get what we mean.
