Masked rapper takes The Hague trap sound to a new level

Bouz is back! With an album in hand and a brand-new record deal, Bartofso is coming to take the Dutch hip-hop scene by storm. And while he may have put on a mask, the Hague-based trapper is actually showing his true face more than ever. As part of the super-successful Wilde Westen crew (including LouiVos, Mula B, and 3robi), he sometimes operated somewhat in the shadows, but from now on, no one can ignore him. Or, in his own words: these are new levels.

After his striking transfer from Wilde Westen to TopNotch, it was a matter of waiting to see what Bartofso's next move would be. That turned out to be LE MASQUE: his third album, on which he gives the typical dark Hague trap sound a substantial upgrade. We hear 3robi, Bokoesam, sor IlliassOpDieBeat, and of course Akkebouz himself, in top form. With those characteristic aggressive and funny bars in which he tears apart the rap game and society.

After shows at Lowlands, Appelsap, Parkpop, Het Moment, and SMIB x TNO, Bartofso is kicking off a nationwide headlining tour this autumn. On Saturday, October 31st – Halloween, that is – he is coming to De Helling, and we all know what that means: this is going to be a scary show. So grab a ticket fast or something.
