Bassvictim is a London-based electronic duo, made up of singer-songwriter Maria Manow and producer Ike Clateman. They created their own genre: Basspunk, a raw fusion of grunge, rap-rock, and synth-pop within the indie-sleaze revival spectrum. Their sound is bass-heavy, glitchy EDM with a sleazy twist — a genre-crossing dopamine hit that effortlessly combines old and new dance music. Influences from dubstep, grime, and Jersey club add extra power and edge to their tracks. With their first release, Canary Wharf Freestyle (2023), they made an immediate impression through explosive live shows and the Victim of the Bass parties in South London. Their debut album Basspunk (2024) cemented their position, followed by Basspunk 2 in early 2025. With heavy trap drops, Polish-language rap, and industrial dance-punk hooks, many of their tracks quickly became underground hits.
