Indie pop with an optimistic, melodic sound

Blanks is the artist project of Dutch songwriter and producer Simon de Wit. He built his fan base through social media, finding his own niche in the indie pop scene both in the Netherlands and abroad: a colorful mix of catchy pop, retro influences, and excited-about-music energy. Over the past year, he co-wrote a string of major hits behind the scenes, including "Atlas" by Pommelien Thijs and "Nog Even Blijven" by MEAU & Douwe Bob. After an intensive year of writing across the globe (from Nashville to the Bahamas), he's now consciously stepping forward with a new album due out in the spring of 2026.
On stage, Blanks truly comes alive: guitar-driven pop, plenty of interaction, and a spontaneous feel-good atmosphere come together through the joy he and his band exude. His shows also strongly revolve around connection: Blanks built his community from day one and still wants to show that you can pursue and achieve your dreams. The new show sounds more mature and pushes the boundaries, but retains precisely that warm, optimistic vibe he's known for. Expect new songs, stories from his time in the US, and an artist who, in everything, makes it clear why he's still, and more than ever, excited about music.
