Bombino (Goumour Almoctar), born in 1980 in a nomadic Tuareg camp near Agadez (Niger), taught himself to play guitar during his youth in exile, inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Ali Farka Touré, among others. Back in Niger, he developed a style in which traditional Tuareg rhythms and rock come together. His songs about peace and hope, in his distinctive style that combines traditional Berber rhythms with the energy of rock & roll, take you on a journey through the cultural heritage of his people.
