Born At Midnite is no average producer duo, but a self-sufficient song machine that keeps everything in its own hands. From a modest former tax office space above a clothing store in Montreal, they build their tracks entirely from the ground up, using samplers, fake drums, tape machines, and their own 'do it myself' approach. Their music plays on, and simultaneously mocks, the ubiquitous narcissism and self-aggrandizement of our time. The result is an idiosyncratic mix that they themselves describe as an unsponsored form of 'product-placement-punk'.
Since 2020, they have been operating as self-proclaimed local heroes and seem to be living their own Belle Époque, effortlessly releasing new tracks: from lighthearted cuts to irresistible singalongs and energetic bangers that resonate in both the city and the countryside. The duo consists of Amery Sandford, a visual artist and laid-back pop singer-songwriter, and David Carriere, producer, songwriter, and guitarist, known for his work in the bands TOPS and Marci.
