Chris Hinze: Sound & Silence - Sound & Silence is a one-off concert in which five top musicians from different musical traditions and continents meet improvisationally in Paradiso. Flute virtuoso Chris Hinze and sound artist Ton Akkermans form the heart of this special experience, in which singing bowls, gongs and bells merge with flute, drums, percussion and the voice as an instrument. With contributions from American soprano Claron McFadden, Indian singer Sandhya Sanjana and jazz legend John Engels, an intense musical landscape emerges in which sound, silence and image come together. Visual material, captured by Hinze during his many travels, enhances the atmosphere and depth of the concert. Sound & Silence moves between meditation and improvisation, between world music and jazz, and invites the audience to listen, become still and experience.
