INTIMATE AND MELANCHOLIC SLOWCORE INTEGRATED WITH UNDERSTOOD STORIES
Coaster is the slowcore project of Bart Appel and Paul Dijkman. The duo, both primarily guitarists, quickly formed a band with a shared love for quiet and slow music. Their songs build upon the lo-fi and slowcore ideas of the 90s and 00s from artists such as Duster, Red House Painters, Low, and Elliott Smith.
The band creates intimate, melancholic songs steeped in dreamy indie rock paired with understated stories. The music captures quiet moments, fleeting memories, and themes such as resilience, making the songs feel simultaneously nostalgic and very personal. The band is playing their album release show at Brewpub de Kromme Haring this autumn.
Support: North Star Runner.
North Star Runner is the solo project of Bo Menning, known from the post-rock band Aestrid. On his album 'The Dennen', he explores the boundaries between ambient, drone, and post-rock, with compositions that feel like nocturnal road movies through dense forests and vast landscapes. Live, Menning builds his songs layer by layer, making every show a unique and immersive experience.
