Culturele Noordspelen | Vlieger Workshop met Lijm-Lab: A summer creative space full of imagination, collaboration, wonder, and... wind!
About Glue Lab
A summery makerspace full of imagination, collaboration, wonder, and… wind!
This summer holiday, Lijm-lab is making kites, wind chimes, and other flying creations on Saturdays at the Tolhuistuin!
Children of all ages are welcome to walk into the garden with a parent, caregiver, grandparent, or guardian and get to work. Come explore, experiment, build, decorate, and discover what happens when the wind carries it away.
For older children, there is the challenge of a real kite, a surprising technical project where construction creativity comes together. Younger children can make a kite on a stick or a colorful creation for the window. Exchanging ideas, helping each other, and having fun are the priorities.

The kites are being made for the Vreemde Vogels Kite Festival in Overhoeks.
On Friday, August 28 at 4:00 PM, there will be the festive inauguration of the Ring-necked Parakeet, the colorful sculpture by artist Teun Castelein located in front of the Wilhelmina Drucker Park in Overhoeks, behind the A*DAM Tower and the EYE Film Museum. Afterwards, a swarm of homemade kites will take to the skies, accompanied by live music, drinks and snacks, and hopefully enough wind.
All kites made are kept by Tolhuistuin for the Vreemde Vogels Kite Vestival, and can be taken home afterwards.
Space is limited, so please arrive on time. We work on a first-come, first-served basis. A free lunch is also provided during the Cultural Noordspelen. All children and parents/guardians are welcome to join us.
