Brothers Pablo & Vince van de Poel, together with their grumpy friend Jordan Faber, have started a new metal band: 𝗗𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗞𝗞𝗘𝗥 Ÿ 𝗘𝗥𝗦 . Because what is more metal than a bunch of bandits flying on goats through the 18th-century South Limburg night? Broken on the wheel, swinging from the gallows, or quartered… They all met a bloody end. So metal.
DE BOKKERŸERS saw it as their Limburgian duty of honor to provide these 18th-century tales full of darkness and ruthlessness with the scorching riffs, thundering rhythms, and lyrical extravagance they deserve. The result is an album that sounds like a nightmare in which the deformed devil child of Ozzy Osbourne and André Rieu is drowned in a churning cesspool by the singer of Carnaval Corpse: this is a combination of hard-hitting doom, sludge, and thrash metal, featuring Limburgish lyrics with a punk attitude, a healthy dose of humor, and fake blood. And a collaboration with Limburgian carnival queen Beppie Kraft. No joke.
VOLKSLEED is released on September 10 on Electrosaurus Records (PREORDER NOW) and in honor of this, the Bokkeryers will play a few live shows, reinforced by Gerben Bielderman (Iron Jinn) on bass and Daniël Michels (Seeds of Despair) on second guitar 🔥
