By now, we can rightfully count De Kift as part of Dutch pop heritage. For 38 years, the Zaandam natives have been a distinctive flamboyant character in the music scene at home and abroad. With lyrics drawn from world literature and a combination of punk, pop, theater, and brass band, they master the art of moving listeners like no other, while simultaneously unleashing a party.
Since its founding in 1988, De Kift has released 13 studio albums. De Kift consistently manages to surprise. If it isn't with an album packaged in twenty cut-up postcards, it is through a new collaboration. Rats on Rafts, Calexico, Franz Ferdinand, Wout Kemkens & Rocco Ostermann, actor Sanne den Hartogh, and documentary filmmaker Sanne Rovers have previously joined forces with De Kift.
