The name Def Americans is a nod to Cash's time at American Recordings, where he worked with Rick Rubin. The band grew into a fixture at clubs and festivals and toured successfully through Dutch theaters. Their repertoire ranges from Sun Records to the later American Recordings, with forays into gospel and duets with “June Carter”. Even Tommy Cash joined in for joint shows, and the band is increasingly finding audiences outside the Netherlands as well.
