The group from Brooklyn, consisting of Ishmael Butler (Butterfly), Craig Irving (Doodlebug), and Mary Ann Vieira (Ladybug Mecca), broke through internationally in the early '90s with their Grammy-winning hit 'Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)'. With their unique mix of jazz influences and hip-hop, they became one of the most influential names in alternative hip-hop. Shortly after, their debut album 'Reachin' was released, followed by the critically acclaimed 'Blowout Comb', a colorful and progressive album exploring themes such as Black Liberation. With their distinctive style and strong artistic vision, Digable Planets left a lasting mark on the music world, inspiring generations of hip-hop lovers, jazz musicians, and creative innovators.
