On Friday, November 7, none other than Dio will perform at Patronaat: the Amsterdam rapper who gained nationwide fame in 2007 with his iconic contribution to Dom, Lomp & Famous by The Opposites. With his contagious energy, sharp pen, and genre-transcending style, he quickly became a staple in the Dutch hip-hop scene.

His debut album Rock & Roll, featuring classics such as Aye and Tijdmachine, earned him multiple awards, sold-out shows, and a strong live reputation. Dio is known for his ability to continually reinvent himself – and he proves this again in 2025, when he returns with vluGtlaan: his first album in ten years.

vluGtlaan is a mature and honest coming-of-age project in which Dio returns to his roots, both personally and musically. The bravado and energy with which he once broke through are still palpable – but now in a layered, mature form that shows why he belongs at the top of the Dutch live acts.
