Earth is an American rock band from Olympia, Washington, around guitarist Dylan Carlson. Since their formation in 1989 the group has been considered a pioneer of the drone metal genre, with the groundbreaking debut 'Earth 2' (1993) as a milestone. Their music balances heavy guitar drones, slow rhythms and minimal compositions that are as hypnotic as they are compelling. Together with drummer Adrienne Davies, Carlson continues to renew Earth's sound. In collaboration with Fire Records, the band begins a new chapter: uncompromising, layered and timelessly powerful.
