On Sunday, November 15, Fred Wesley Generations will be performing at Patronaat. Trombonist Fred Wesley , known for his work with James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic , builds a bridge between his jazz roots and the future with the Generations project. Together with organist Leonardo Corradi and drummer Tony Match, he forms a versatile trio that effortlessly combines jazz, funk, soul, and even rap influences into an energetic live show full of groove.
Originally brought together to pay tribute to organ legend Jimmy Smith , the chemistry between the three proved so strong that the project grew into an international live sensation. With decades of experience on the biggest stages, Fred Wesley, together with this new generation of musicians, presents a set in which improvisation, rhythm, and soul take center stage. Drummer Tony Match has worked with diverse jazz and funk icons, while Leonardo Corradi is regarded as one of Europe's most promising Hammond organists. With Generations, they prove that jazz does not stand still but keeps moving — from soulful grooves to funk, from tradition to innovation.
