The German-Swiss duo Grandbrothers creates a hypnotizing mix of classical, ambient, and electronic music, with a grand piano at its core. Jazz pianist Erol Sarp plays the piano in a regular way, while his repetitive melodies evoke the work of Nils Frahm and Steve Reich. Meanwhile, Lukas Vogel provides percussion on the same piano with a hammer machine he built, electronically processing the sounds to create a layered experience. Their new album, 'Elsewhere,' which will be released in September 2025, will enrich their sound with analog synths and drum machines, bringing even more depth and movement to their live performances.
