No band from Manchester is as Manchester as IST IST. Four dead-serious Brits in Ray-Ban sunglasses and black suits, armed with a driving, super-tight 80s post-punk sound and a reverberating voice that would give Ian Curtis the shivers. For over twelve years, they have effortlessly kept their heads above water in the grey sea of British post-punk bands.
The secret? A distinctive style, and at the same time an unmistakable nostalgia for the 80s. It has already taken them to Paradiso, Doornroosje, and the Albert Hall in their hometown of Manchester. They have also released five albums, two of which landed in the Album Top 40.
Riding the wave of their recent hit album DAGGER, IST IST crosses the channel for a tour of the 'continent'. On October 18, they come to Utrecht for the first time to flatten De Helling with their perfectly measured combination of melancholy, power, and precision.
