RO KROM PRESENTS: RETRO REWIND UNDERGROUND
A Flashback to Late 80's DJ Culture at Club Dwiezels (De HAK) Haarlem
This event has been moved from Slachthuis to De Volharding!
Late eighties. A time of doom, squats, riots, and the constant threat that 'the bomb' could drop. In Haarlem, that grim zeitgeist did not lead to apathy, but to an explosion of do-it-yourself drive. Amidst (post)punk, new wave, free states, and pop venues without sound limits, one place on Smedestraat served as the second home for the alternative scene: Underground Club Dwiezels .
During the Haarlem Vinyl Festival on Friday, October 2, Haarlem resident Ro Krom brings that legendary, lived-in atmosphere to the free space of De Volharding. A reliving of the years just before house and hip-hop took over. Call it nostalgia, call it melancholy, but above all, expect the raw energy of a dance floor about to explode.
