Jonge Dromers Collectief: SLOWCOOKER met TRAAG – jeugdtheatervoorstelling

Yentl Staller and Elsbeth de Boer graduated from art school in 2024 and dream of creating performance art for and with children. They have been doing just that over the past few months within the Young Dreamers program in MidWest, and they will present their work on September 13 at 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM! The reason the two signed up for this program was to create a playful exchange through dance and theater – and to reflect together on the pace of themselves, others, and the present time . Yentl and Elsbeth wonder: does a 'norm pace' exist? Who determines this pace? When are you too slow? What happens internally (emotionally) when you cannot keep up with this pace, and how does that manifest (physically)? Or when are you actually too fast for the rest to keep up? We believe that every person has their own pace at which they move comfortably. How can we take everyone's individual pace into account? To what extent is it necessary to adjust your pace to that of the other person in order to live together? We live in a fast-paced world, but our bodies are not made to be fast all the time. Sometimes it is necessary to slow down, just as it is sometimes necessary to speed up. Every person has their own dynamic that works well for them to be healthy and happy. Because we notice in the current fast pace of life that high speed seems to be the norm, both in education and in the workplace , we want to shed light on the importance of slowness in our society and the importance of space for differences.
